| 1988 | The redevelopment of Tsz Wan Shan Estate has left a large number of elderly singletons helpless and unable to move out. |
| 1989 | The "Tsz Wan Shan Elderly Relocation Campaign" was initiated by the then Public Housing Authority and social work students, who jointly recruited volunteers to assist the singleton elderly in the district in relocation, renovation and community adaptation, and to build up a support network for each other in the new community. |
| 2001 | As the relocation exercise was coming to an end, most of the volunteers stayed behind to continue to serve the elderly in Tsz Wan Shan, and the volunteer group of the "Tsz Wan Shan Elderly Relocation Exercise" was renamed as "Yung Kwong Society Elderly Service Group", so as to facilitate internal and external contacts and follow up work. |
| 2005 | Officially registered as "Yung Kwong Shea Elderly Service Organization Limited". |
| 2008 | 獲稅務局確認為慈善機構，可豁免繳稅(IR88)。 |
| 2011 | Moved to the clubhouse at Wing Yuen House, Chuk Yuen South Estate to launch more elderly services. |
| 2015 | Changed the name to Yung Kwang Shea Co. |
| 2017 | Changed the name to Yung Kwong Society. Developed residential care home services and purchased property. |
| 2023 | 第1位長者於2023年3月6日入住榕光社護老之家。 |
| 2024 | 榕光社護老之家於2024年2月3日舉行開幕典禮。 非常榮幸邀請到財政司司長陳茂波先生及賽馬會董事陳智思先生蒞臨，與其他主禮嘉賓及善長嘉賓一起主持及見證這個喜悅及重要時刻。 |
| 2024 | 榕光社與國際獅子會中國港澳三0三區合辦的「十八區流動中醫贈醫施藥」計劃，於2024年8月17日在竹園中心舉行啟動禮，同時亦為中醫義診醫療車進行揭幕儀式。 |
